From 30/100 English to #1 on Google for "SEO Expert"

Childhood

Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka

Grew up in a working-class Tamil family - mother ground and packed Idli & Dosa batter at home (1 KG for 50 rupees) while father worked long hours. Early lessons in relentless effort.

Grade 8

St. Anthony's Maha Vidyalayam

Tamil-medium government schooling in Colombo. Then transitioned to Oasis International School where he scored 30/100 on a Grade 3 English paper. Within three months of deliberate study, ranked 10th in class and kept climbing.

Secondary

School Prefect + Sports Captain at Oasis International

Climbed from 10th place to prefect and sports captain. First taste of teaching peers - the habit that would later become 30,000+ students.

2008-2010

BTech at ESOFT Metro Campus

Completed the 4-year part-time IT degree in 2.5 years with 95% across all subjects while attending school weekdays. Discovered SEO during this period.

~2010

First $15 online

After losing $300 to scam networks, earned his first $15 from file-hosting site traffic. "More meaningful than any larger amount since" - the proof SEO worked.

2014-2016

Graduated with Distinction. Dissertation - "Automated Search Engine Optimisation Management System" - awarded Most Interesting Project of the Year 2016 by faculty.

2016-2019

Maximum right results in minimum time - the founding principle. Focus on Sri Lankan businesses drowning in local search competition.

2019-2021

YouTube @AlstonAntony + SaaS Pirate community

Started publishing honest SEO tool reviews on YouTube. Grew SaaS Pirate from zero to 15,000+ members - built on the single rule of zero sponsored placements.

2021-2024

Philosophy

"Not for perfection, but for progress."

Most SEO tool reviews online are ads - the reviewer gets a free account, uses it for 20 minutes, writes 2,000 words calling it "the best tool of 2026", then collects affiliate commissions on every click. Alston does it differently: his own money, weeks of use on real sites, honest verdicts - even when the verdict is "don't buy it."
