On this page (10 sections)

Nowadays due to a lot of competition among websites to get higher rankings, where an engaging and high-quality article is not enough for traffic on your site, it is nearly impossible to rank without a systematic approach. The good news: Google’s algorithm still rewards the same fundamentals it rewarded five years ago - just with more rigour.

This is the exact nine-technique framework I use on client sites at Maxinium, and the same one I teach in my Tamil YouTube tutorials.

1. Start with search intent, not keywords

Keyword volume means nothing if the intent doesn’t match your page. For every target keyword, open Google in incognito and look at the top 10. Are they product pages, blog posts, comparison guides, or video carousels? Match the dominant format before you write a word.

2. Write the H1 for humans, the title tag for Google

Your H1 should persuade a visitor to keep reading. Your <title> tag should include the primary keyword in the first 50 characters and a brand suffix. They do not need to match word-for-word.

3. Build a topic cluster, not a pile of posts

One pillar page targeting the head term, 6-12 supporting cluster posts targeting long-tail variations, and every cluster post linking back to the pillar with a keyword-rich anchor. That pattern alone doubled organic traffic on three Maxinium client sites in 2025.

4. Fix Core Web Vitals before you write more content

If your LCP is above 2.5 seconds on mobile, no amount of content will fix your ranking. Compress images to WebP, self-host fonts, inline critical CSS, and defer non-critical JS. In 2026 Google weights INP (Interaction to Next Paint) more than FID ever was.

Not guest posts, not comments - actual editorial mentions from sites that rank for your topic. One high-authority link beats 100 directory submissions. Reach out with real data, not templates.

6. Add FAQ schema to every important page

Every page with two or more questions should have FAQPage JSON-LD. It’s the easiest rich result to earn and it increases SERP click-through rate even when you don’t get the rich snippet.

Find the page on your site with the most external backlinks. Now internal-link from it to the page you want to rank. This one move often lifts a stuck page 10+ positions within two weeks.

8. Update, don’t abandon

Pages lose rankings over time if they’re not updated. Once per quarter, open Google Search Console, find pages where impressions dropped 20%+ quarter-over-quarter, and refresh them - new stats, new screenshots, fresh introductions, updated year references.

9. Win the AI Overview

Google’s AI Overview now appears on 60% of searches. To be cited in it, structure your content as clear Q→A blocks, add a TL;DR at the top, and use entity-rich language (mention specific tools, brands, and places). AI systems reward clarity more than traditional SEO ever did.
